The glass used is tempered and is totally safe and approved by the National Building Code of Canada (NBC). Tempered glass is heated to very high temperatures and then air-cooled, making it stronger and providing safe fragmentation characteristics. It is 4 to 5 times stronger than non-tempered glass, and has a long service life.
